Of the many amazing and completely mind blowing launches at MWC 09, the one which almost gave me an orgasm was the official launch of the Android G2.
Officially christened the HTC Magic, the G2 is the refined and polished sibling of the HTC Dream a.k.a G1. The hardware specs are very similar to the Android G1 with some improvements. It comes with a more recent version of Android with Cupcake features rolled in and it doesn’t have a physical QWERTY keyboard. That, and it’s also cheaper. Rumored to be priced around $299.

Official HTC Magic Specs:
- Processor: Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 Mhz
- Memory: 192 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
- Display: 3.2-inch TFT-LCD HVGA 480×320
- Connectivity: GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
- OS: Android OS
- Camera: 3.15 MP, No flash
- Input: Trackball, Capacitive touchscreen
- Dimensions:117.7 x 55 x 13.7 mm
- Weight: 118.5 g
Isn’t it beautiful? I fail to see why anyone wouldn’t kill for it.
Note: Definitely my next phone. (Subject to change if anyone else comes up with an awesome-er phone based on Android, Symbian Foundation OS or Win Mo 6.5).

By the time you read this, I will probably be on my way to Goa for a much needed vacation with some friends.
Obviously, there would be lots of better things to do there than blogging so I won’t be updating this blog for awhile.
But don’t be disappointed, my millions of readers, for I shall be back soon (probably a week).
For now, Bon Voyage to me! Goa, here I come.

If any of you is wondering where I have been since the last couple of days and if I have given up on blogging – I just got a Sony PSP Slim. Back to the good ol’ gaming days.

It’s a Sony PSP Slim 2004 with CFW v5.00 M33-4. Needless to say, I’m loving it.
Will upload more pics soon.

Here’s Wishing all my readers (however few they may be
) a very Happy New Year 2009.
Here is my
Wishlist for 2009:
-
1. Cheaper, Faster Broadband
Half the world has graduated to 8 MBPS Unlimited plans and we are still stuck with our bullock-cart-ish 128 KBPS / 256 KBPS plans. There is no 2 MBPS Unlimited plan and even the 2 MBPS NU costs a bomb relatively. Whatever happened to Dayanidhi Maran’s promise of Free Broadband. ? I would be very glad if I even had affordable (and real) Broadband.
2. 3G in India
Most probably we should have fully functional 3G services by all leading operators by Q2 2009. Hopefully it will also be affordable, better than the current data plans where you pay 10 PS / 10KB. If NOP didn’t still work, I would have had to file bankruptcy within a day.
3. An Android G1 / Nokia 5800 XM / Sony PSP
I will get atleast one of these beauties in January. Or maybe two!
Also add a new monster gaming PC and a laptop to that list.
4. My Hot New Startup / Discovery
The thing I want to do most in 2009. More details on this later as / if things work out.
5. Finally, Life Offline
Now this is less of a wish and more of a resolution. I have led an almost fully online life in 2008. I hope to change that in 2009. Maybe I will go completely offline for a month atleast and try to experience the better aspects of life. Need to catch up on all the lost joys of last year. I will try to spend more time reading books instead of watching movies like a zombie in a marathon. I hope 2009 also sees the downfall of all the crappy social networks which are, in fact, turning people antisocial. (Nah, not me.. I had other reasons.) As a friend puts it, I will try to suck less.
Happy New Year everyone. Have a blast.

Now with Google selling the unlocked G1 for $399, the Kogan Agora starting at just $190, the Nokia E63 launching soon, and the 5800 Xpress Music also coming in around Jan 2009, I am totally confused about which of these to go for.
Another gadget vying for my attention is the PSP 2001/ 3000.
Help me decide. I have 1 more month to go before my exams finish.
