What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos particles. It causes malignant cells to develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body’s internal organs. Companies are liable to pay their employees a fair amount compensation if the workers are exposed to asbestos. Many lawsuits pertaining to Mesothelioma are filed every year around the world.

Google has started its quarterly Pagerank update; many websites and blogs have already had their Pagerank updates. I was expecting it to happen around 30th June, but looks like they started it a week earlier.

PathikShah.Com is now a PR3 blog. My Alexa Rank is currently fluctuating around 420,000 which is pretty decent. The growth, while not spectacular, has been quite steady. My next aim is to become a PR4 by 2010.

There are many methods which you can use to improve your Alexa rank, and most of them do work. You can find plenty of tutorials on the internet which can help you boost your Alexa Rank, I’m just listing the two easiest ways to do so.

1. Install the Alexa Toolbar

The Alexa Rank is decided by the number of visits you get from users having the Alexa toolbar installed in their browsers. So the best way to improve your rank is to find as many PCs as you can, install the Alexa toolbar and set your website as the homepage.

Google has updated the Page Rank values today. Many sites have reported a change in Page Rank. The PR update has also been confirmed by Matt Cutts.

This blog – PathikShah.com is now a PR2. That’s supposedly quite decent for a blog not even 2 months old.

Well, this is a Black Hat SEO technique so I would not recommend that you use it. Instead I am telling you about it, so that you don’t accidentally use it and get punished by Google.

What is PR (PageRank) ?

In simple terms, PageRank is a number that Google assigns to your website and ranks them according to the number of incoming links. A backlink from a very famous site (having high PR) counts more than a backlink from some obscure site (like this one). The PageRank algorithm by Google factors in all the incoming and outgoing links with their weightage and calculates a PageRank for your site. A site with PR 10 is generally the most famous and has a large number of incoming links from important sites. Currently only Google and the US Govt site have a PR 10. Most of the websites lie in the region of PR 1-3.

Why should you want a higher PR?

Having a higher PageRank means greater visibility in search engine results (SERP) as your website is ranked above many others in the query results, assuming similar conditions. Your content is also favored and indexed faster than other sites. This can drive a lot of traffic to your site, get you more backlinks and further increase your PR. Also advertisers pay you more when if you have a higher PR.
