This tutorial will show you how you can increase your SSD’s speed and life.
Solid State Drives (SSD) offer much faster read speeds than standard hard drives, allow much faster random access and also lower the startup time. They are also shock resistant and consume much less power than hard disks.
However, they have a limited number of read / write cycles which can lead to them wearing out quickly if not used properly. You can easily tweak your SSD to offer better performance and to improve its lifespan.
To minimize the no of writes, you can disable the Windows Page File, Windows Prefetcher, Disk Defragmenter etc. You can use SSD Tweaker to tweak all those settings from a single interface.
Just download it, run the SSD Tweaker tool and click on Auto Tweak Settings or manually disable all the options listed. This should increase both the performance and the life of your SSD.
