How To Install APK files on Android Phone

Mobiles, Tutorials Add comments

This tutorial will show you how to install APK files on your Android device. There are two ways to install applications on your Android phone. The first is through the Android Market and the second is by directly installing APK (Android Package) files to your device.

There are two ways to install APK files directly on your phone:

1. Copy the APK file to the root directory of your memory card.

2. Download an application called Apps Installer from the Android Market. Install it and fire it up.

3. In the Apps Installer application, you will see a list of the APK files stored in the root directory of your memory card.

4. Select the APK you want to install and you are done. You can now access that application from the menu.

    Hi,

Need a help! – I bought Galaxy Ace – 2.2 android phone. Downloaded angry birds, talking tom from android market, but do not see the application on menu or a file in SD card or phone. Where are the files going on? Not sure whether the files completely downloaded or not, as I cannot watch the full process looking at the screen. Are they really downloading? if yes, where are the files saved?
Another question – how to download the games/applications from android market place into my PC first? I have to pay cell phone bill more, if I download from phone (currently I downloaded from phone, but I did find them where they are saved)

    Thanks in advance
    Maruthi

You can download the APKs on your PC and then install them on your phone. Or connect to the Market via Wi-Fi so that you don’t have to pay a high bill.
