Linux on the iPhone

Linux has been ported to Apple’s iPhone platform. It supports both the iPhone, iPhone 3G as well as the iPod Touch. It is a rough draft of the port yet, but atleast you have something.

Finally some hope for Android on the iPhone.

The new HTC Touch HD is to be launched soon and it sports killer specs – a massive 3.8 inch display, 288 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM with a 5 MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and all anyone would ever want. It looks better and is slimmer than the iPhone and has much better specs and features.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Launched

Finally!

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been officially launched in India. It is Nokia’s first attempt at a full Touch device and has had superb reviews at Mobile-Review. It is supposed to kill the iPhone, the HTC Touch Diamond and the Blackberry Storm.
It has superb specs,  killer looks and loads of features.

  • Display: 3.2 inch TFT touchscreen, 16M colors, 360 x 640 pixels

From the looks of it, it can totally kick the iPhone’s a$$, atleast in terms of features and sales.

It is priced at just Rs. 21,000, compared to some outrageously priced smartphones (Read: iPhone, INNOV8, Xperia X1)

Design, Dimensions and Weight:

Both the Blackberry Storm and the iPhone have similar dimensions as you can see in the table above. While the Storm is wider, the iPhone is a bit longer. The iPhone 3G weighs about 133 gms while the Storm is bulkier at 155 gms. However 20 gms isn’t much of an increase, anyone can live with that.
