There are very few defining moments in life. Buying the EEE PC was possibly one in mine.
Today is the first birthday of my beloved EEE PC, I bought it on 17th March 2008 – exactly an year back. I first actually saw it on display at Croma, the day it launched. It was love at first sight, and the rest as you know, is history. It has been a great year and it has served me quite well. There hasn’t been a single instance where it has let me down. I still find it just as BAAAAAAAP (read: extremely awesome) as I did on the first day.
Here’s the review I wrote a year back, when I got my EEE, just to show you how much I loved it back then. And the love has only grown (exponentially) with time.
My EEE PC Review
One of my best investments ever. Cheers to my EEE!

A great start to 2009. Two geeks at Venturebeat have managed to port the Android OS to an X86 based Asus EEE PC. It is the first major mobile OS that has been ported to a standard computer. Almost all driver incompatibilities have been sorted and all the hardware is working great. The main roadblocks – compiling the Android code on a X86 based CPU instead of a ARM CPU commonly used in smartphones, and porting the framebuffer graphic drivers of Android to work on PCs have been blown off. It’s great news especially for me, as I have been an early adopter of netbooks as well as an Android enthusiast.

Speculation that Android may soon be officially ported for normal computers is on a high since someone noticed that there are separate policies for phones and MID’s (Mobile Internet Devices) in Google’s Android product policy.

This tutorial will show you how to access WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) sites on your PC. Sometimes you may want to access the mobile versions of your favorite sites on your PC, but some browsers don’t support WML (Wireless Markup Language) and wont be able to display the pages.
To open WAP sites on your PC, you can use online WAP emulators or use software to do so.
Emulators:
You can use various online WAP emulators which allow you to access WAP sites using a web interface.
Some of the most popular ones include:
1. dotMobi WAP Emulator – http://mtld.mobi/emulator.php
2. WAPTiger WAP Emulator – http://www.waptiger.com/waptiger/
3. TagTag WAP Emulator – http://tagtag.com/cgi/wapemulator.cgi
