Opera has released a new version of Opera 10 a.k.a Opera Turbo. It has all the features included in Opera 10 alpha – the new Presto 2.2 rendering engine, a perfect 100/100 ACID3 score, spell check, auto update and other goodies, plus it now also has a new feature called “Opera Web Optimization Proxy“. It is much faster than the normal version of Opera (which BTW, is the fastest browser on Earth).
When you switch on the Turbo mode, all the websites you request are first compressed at Opera’s servers and then passed on to you, lowering your bandwidth consumption and loading pages much faster. It is similar to the OBML technique used in Opera Mini, but more powerful and fast. On my 2 MBPS connection, I didn’t feel much of a difference but it should surely help those with slower connections. To enable the Turbo mode, just click on the Turbo icon on the bottom left. Once activated, it will show you how much bandwidth has been saved already.

As always, Opera FTW!

This tutorial will show you how to Block Ads in the three most popular web browsers – Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera.
1. Block Ads in Internet Explorer
Download IE7PRO
IE7PRO Ad Blocker
To block Ads in Internet Explorer, you need to use IE7PRO’s built in Ad Blocker. After installing IE7PRO, just enable the Ad Blocker by going to Tools > IE7PRO Preferences > Ad Blocker and most Ads will be automatically blocked. If it misses out on some Ads, just visit that site, right click the IE7PRO icon on the extreme right of the Status bar > Ad Blocker Advanced > View Filter Info > Select the Ad Frame > Add Rule > Add to URL Block Filter.
2. Block Ads in Firefox
Download AdBlock Plus
Adblock Plus Filter List
Blocking Ads in Firefox is the easiest in all of the three, which is one of the many reasons why Firefox is so popular. You just need to download the Adblock Plus extension and install it. On finishing installation, just select any filter from the top five, preferably Easy List and all Ads will be blocked as long as Adblock Plus is enabled. You can get the full list of filters here : http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions. Just click on the Subscribe link and add it to your filters.

The latest beta of the very popular Opera Mini browser – v4.2 is now available for Android users. From the initial reports, it seems just as able and fast as its Java counterpart that runs on millions of cellphones. This is the first 3rd party browser for the Android platform. There are reports that the Opera Mobile browser may also be ported to Android in the near future. Well, being a fan of both Opera and Android, this development is very exciting for me. The guys at Gizmodo have done a small review of Opera Mini on Android.

Finally, Apple may regret its decision of not allowing Opera Mini on the iPhone. Who cares.. Android IS the future.
