2 Years of Blogging…
I started my personal blog – Pathik Shah – exactly 2 years back. It has been a great experience so far, having my own place on the interwebs. It hasn’t quite been my ticket to the internet millionaire club as I was hoping it would be when I started out, but I have been able to easily recoup my domain and hosting costs, internet bills and be ramen profitable (not sure if it applies in this sense, but like everyone else, I would like to be called an entrepreneur, even if all I have is this shitty blog, so…).
I have also gotten better at putting my thoughts (which no one gives a shit about) into words (which no one reads), so I guess it’s all well. I am now getting close to 100,000 visitors every month which is quite decent considering my abysmally low posting frequency (about one per month). I hope to start regularly blogging again, but it is tough to put your heart to something which isn’t making you millions. But then again, I don’t have much else to do, so blog I will.
Since I don’t have much more to say, here’s a list of my top 10 blog posts so far.
Thanks. Keep checking my blog. Twice. Every hour.

Google has started its quarterly Pagerank update; many websites and blogs have already had their Pagerank updates. I was expecting it to happen around 30th June, but looks like they started it a week earlier.
PathikShah.Com is now a PR3 blog. My Alexa Rank is currently fluctuating around 420,000 which is pretty decent. The growth, while not spectacular, has been quite steady. My next aim is to become a PR4 by 2010.
Thanks to all my readers for making this possible.

Today, I received my first Google Adsense Check via Bluedart. The earnings are for the ads published on PathikShah.Com from December 2008 – March 2009. It isn’t much, but does make ends meet.

When I first started this blog, it was mainly because of 3 reasons -
1. I wanted to be the top search result when anyone googled my name
2. Everyone I knew had a blog
3. I was bored
Unlike most other bloggers, I wasn’t trying to satisfy my creative urge to write, nor did I want to make the world a better place by writing the best tech blog around.
. I was just plain bored (I still am), and wanted to do something to keep me occupied (which this blog failed at).

Yea, the expression now returns the elusive little boolean value – true.
I gave the Sun Certified Java Programmer – SCJP 1.6 (310-065) exam today at a Prometric Center and cleared it with 88% – 64/72. Wooohooo!
While I still don’t fancy myself as a programmer, it is a nice addition to my almost blank resume. KTHXBAI!
Books used: SCJP 1.6 K&B.
If you need any help regarding the SCJP examination, leave a comment below.

There are very few defining moments in life. Buying the EEE PC was possibly one in mine.
Today is the first birthday of my beloved EEE PC, I bought it on 17th March 2008 – exactly an year back. I first actually saw it on display at Croma, the day it launched. It was love at first sight, and the rest as you know, is history. It has been a great year and it has served me quite well. There hasn’t been a single instance where it has let me down. I still find it just as BAAAAAAAP (read: extremely awesome) as I did on the first day.
Here’s the review I wrote a year back, when I got my EEE, just to show you how much I loved it back then. And the love has only grown (exponentially) with time.
My EEE PC Review
One of my best investments ever. Cheers to my EEE!
