If you have a Symbian OS 9.x phone, you need to sign applications and games before installing them. If you want to bypass the signing process and directly install all unsigned applications, you can hack your Symbian device using the HelloOx patch.

After installing the HelloOx patch, you can directly install all Symbian applications without signing them.

HelloOx doesn’t work with Symbian FP2 devices and the 5800. To start signing your Symbian OS9 applications, you first need to get a certificate for your Symbian phone and then sign it using SignSIS.

How to get a Signing Certificate for your Symbian phone

There are two ways to get a signing certificate.

cer.opda.cn

Just go to http://cer.opda.cn/en and register as a user. Enter your IMEI and you should get a certificate in 10-12 hours.

cer.s603rd.cn

Go to http://cer.s603rd.cn and enter your IMEI and the verification code in the two boxes. The certificate should be generated in 10-12 hours. Just visit the site again and enter your IMEI again to download your certificate.

How to Sign your Symbian Applications using SignSIS

Once you have your certificate, you can sign applications using the SignSIS tool.

Download SignSIS here - http://cer.opda.cn/uploads/tools/SignSISTool.zip

Extract the files from the zip archive using WinRAR or WinZip and run SignTool.exe

In the boxes with the chinese text,

#1 Browse and select the SignSIS.exe file

#2 Select the unsigned SIS file

#3 Select the .CER certificate

#4 Select the .KEY key

#5 Browse and select the unsigned SIS file but rename it to something else. This is where the signed file will be saved.

This tutorial will show you how to SIGN your Unsigned Symbian (OS v9) Apps.

There are many methods to Sign your Symbian Apps, but none as simple as this one:

1. OpenSigned
This is the official service by SymbianSigned using which you can sign your applications for free. Just goto https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/public/openSignedOnline.do , enter the details like yopur IMEI No, Email ID, upload your unsigned application, give it all the permissions and click on Send. You should get the signed application in your email in around 1-2 hours.

However, OpenSigned has a drawback – it can’t be used to sign Apps with an unprotected UID range. You also can’t sign cracked apps.

2. GenialSIS
This is an even simpler way to get your apps signed, just goto SymbianSigned.com and register with any valid uncommon email id (The common – Gmail, Yahoo, Live won’t work).

Now Download GenialSIS, and open the GenialSIS.exe file.

1. Create Certificate

Just enter your IMEI in the first tab, and click Generate to create a certificate. Also save your profile.

2. Symbian Signed Certificate

In the next tab, just enter your SymbianSigned username and password, select your profile and click on Upload. Enter the Captcha correctly adn you should get a download prompt – just download the file to GenialSIS/profiles/profilename. Now you have your SymbianSigned certificate.

3. Sign SIS / SISX

In the third tab, just open the Application you want to sign, select the profile and click Sign. You are done with the signing process now. Just transfer the signed application to your phone and install it.
